About Atelier Emily
I started Atelier Emily because great design should feel inevitable: like a space was always meant to look this way.
My background spans interior design, architectural planning, and business. I hold a Master's from the New York School of Interior Design and an MBA, and years of working across studios and planning roles gave me a deep respect for how buildings are built and how to work with them, not against them.
I believe older spaces deserve to be restored to their original character, not modernized away from it. My work starts with what's already there, the proportions, the materials, the architectural details and builds from that foundation rather than erasing it. And when it comes to furniture, I select pieces for how they work as much as how they look, considering durability, scale, and what actually makes sense for how you live at this stage of your life.
Atelier Emily is based on the Upper West Side and works with clients throughout New York City.
